The Initial Remote Consultation

After the first contact, an appointment is scheduled for a consultation with Dr. Hamdan directly by WhatsApp or video call. In this consultation, your medical history, chronic conditions, current medications, and the duration of the problem are discussed.

If you have previous tests, send them at this stage. What can be sent: hormonal blood test results, reports of any previous erectile dysfunction tests, and a list of current medications.

Assessing the Case and Determining the Suitable Type

After the initial consultation, a clear medical opinion is given: does the case need an implant? Which type is suitable? And what is the full all-inclusive cost?

This opinion does not obligate you to anything. Many patients need a second consultation before the final decision.

Setting the Arrival Date and Booking Tickets

After the final decision, the arrival date is set in coordination with the international coordinator. It is advised to book flexible tickets that allow adjusting the return date if the case needs an extra day.

Medical Preparation Before Travel

Depending on the case, you may be asked to: control your blood sugar if you are diabetic (target HbA1c below 8%), stop blood thinners under medical guidance a specified number of days in advance, and fast from midnight the night of surgery.

All instructions reach you in writing and clearly in advance.

Arrival Day: Reassurance From the First Moment

At the airport: Queen Alia International Airport is about 35 minutes from the heart of Amman. The international coordinator waits for you at the exit of the baggage claim area. You do not have to worry about transport or getting around.

The hotel: you are taken directly to the chosen hotel near the Royal Hospital. Check-in time is a short rest before appointments.

Pre-surgery tests: on the same day or the next, depending on your arrival time, the basic tests are carried out at the Royal Hospital: an electrocardiogram (ECG), a chest X-ray, a comprehensive blood test and coagulation tests, a urine test, and any hormonal tests not done previously.

Results usually appear within hours.

The evening: rest at the hotel. No medical commitments in the evening. Time to relax and adjust to the new situation. The coordinator is available to answer any question.

The Real Meeting With Dr. Hamdan

This is the most important day before surgery. The session with Dr. Hamdan is not a routine procedure but a genuine conversation that shapes everything that follows.

What happens in this session: a full review of all tests and medical history. A direct clinical examination including a vascular Doppler if not done previously. Confirmation of the suitable implant type and an explanation of the reasons. A detailed explanation of what will happen in the surgery. An honest discussion of post-surgery expectations. An answer to every question, however sensitive.

What does not happen: no pressure. No rushing. No imposed decision. If you leave the session still unsure, that is completely acceptable and is discussed.

After the session: the surgery date is set, usually the next day or the day after. The rest is time for rest and mental preparation.

The Day Everything Changed For

The morning: heading to the hospital at the set time with the coordinator. Check-in and preparing the paperwork. Preparation for surgery in the anesthesia unit.

Just before surgery: speaking with the anesthesiologist. Administering the local anesthesia. Dr. Hamdan is present and ready.

During surgery: usually 45 to 60 minutes. The patient is awake but comfortable, with the area locally anesthetized. No pain during the procedure. You can talk with the surgical team if you wish.

Immediately after surgery: the recovery room for a few hours until your condition is stable. Checking the vital signs. The first dose of antibiotics and painkillers.

The hospital stay: in most cases the patient leaves the hospital the same day or the next morning. Some cases call for one night's stay, and this is included in the price.

Returning to the hotel: the coordinator transports you calmly and helps you settle in. The painkillers manage the area well and rest begins.

The First and Second Day After Surgery: What to Expect

What you will feel: swelling and heaviness in the area is completely normal. Pain in most cases is mild to moderate and managed with simple painkillers. Most patients describe the first days as easier than they expected.

What you can do: light walking starting from the second day. Sitting and eating normally. Handling personal needs independently in most cases.

What to avoid: heavy lifting. Excessive movement. Direct water on the area in the first days.

Contact with the team: any question, any concern, any change in your condition is reported immediately to the coordinator, who passes it to Dr. Hamdan. Do not wait for the follow-up appointment if something worries you.

The Last Visit Before Your Return: Complete Reassurance

A day or two before leaving Amman, a follow-up visit with Dr. Hamdan is scheduled. This visit is not skipped because it:

Allows Dr. Hamdan to confirm that recovery is progressing normally. Answers all the questions that arose after surgery. Gives you the full instructions for the next period: what to do and what to avoid. Sets the date of your first remote follow-up after two weeks. Gives you official medical documents with the surgery report to keep or to present to your doctor at home.

After the visit: the coordinator arranges your transport to the airport, and your farewell is one of reassurance and confidence.

The Journey Does Not End at the Airport

Returning to your country does not mean the end of the relationship with the center. Follow-up continues:

The first and second weeks: periodic follow-up messages via WhatsApp. Answering any question that arises. Checking that recovery is progressing. If any concerns appear, Dr. Hamdan contacts you directly.

The first month: a detailed video call with Dr. Hamdan to assess recovery. Reviewing any accompanying medication. Confirming the device works correctly.

After 4 to 6 weeks: the start of training on using the device for the hydraulic implant. This stage is important and is done under Dr. Hamdan's direct guidance by video call.

Resuming married life: usually after 6 weeks from surgery. Dr. Hamdan determines the right time for your case specifically after assessing recovery.

After 3 months: a comprehensive follow-up call. Assessing patient satisfaction. Answering any question that arose at this stage.

After 6 months: the last systematic follow-up session. After that, follow-up is as needed.

The in-person visit to Amman: not mandatory in standard cases. But if you wish to make an in-person visit during the follow-up stage, it is easily arranged.

Do I need to be accompanied by someone?

Is there a specific time of year that is better to come?

No. The center operates year-round. The appointment is set according to what suits you.

What does the patient eat after surgery?

Can I go out and tour Amman during recovery at the hotel?
